It’s a work-in-progress at this point. I think it’s a wonderful film. There are great things in it that interest me. The script isn’t completely there yet, it probably won’t happen until next year.
Here’s to hoping that ‘next year’ really means ‘never,’ as the idea of remaking a classic of that caliber, from THE master of horror himself, Alfred Hitchcock, seems to be about the worse idea in the history of worse ideas. But that’s Platinum Dunes for you.
If anything good came out of the PSYCHO remake it was the proof that remaking Hitchcock–even shot by shot–never turns out well. It can’t be done! And yet here we are, talking about a remake of THE BIRDS. Bugh…
