Blessed Are the Children poster is a vintage masterpiece

I'm a big fan of old-school horror novels. Not necessarily for their content mind you, but for the most part because they had some of the most badass covers of all-time.

Sure the local VHS store had pimp cover-boxes all over the place in the 80's, and to some degree, the 90's, but horror novels from the 60's all the way through the late 90's have consistently the best fuc*ing horror art out there.

Evocative would be the right word to use. Scrumtrulescent would be another.

Anyhow, while I cannot speak to the quality of the upcoming fright flick BLESSED ARE THE CHILDREN (you can peep the trailer below, if you want) I can sure as hell spit many bullets about how classic and amazing its poster design is.

This is, for sure, going in the "new classics" pile of posters I have on my wall. Well, maybe that's too far, but it is still background of my phone badass. And so it shall be.

BLESSED ARE THE CHILDREN follows:

Traci Patterson (Kaley Ball), an adrift 20-something who's still reeling from the death of her father and her breakup with an abusive fiancé (Jordan Boyd), discovers that she's pregnant. With the help of her friends, Erin and Mandy (Arian Thigpen, Keni Bounds), she decides to terminate her pregnancy, but quickly after leaving the clinic, she begins seeing and hearing things – shapes in the corner of her eye, strange noises in the middle of the night, and ghoulish figures stalking her every move. Is it guilt or are Traci and her friends in grave danger?

BLESSED ARE THE CHILDREN is set to be released sometime in late 2017.
