A couple weeks back, I introduced you guys to a new horror indie called THE ECHO GAME which basically “had me at hello” with the initial promise of a good gory story plus lesbians in peril! I also showed you some early pics from the flick that were a tad tame in regards to the red stuff. However, now we’ve got a whole new crop of images that nicely bring forth the blood (see above and below). Click here to check out all of ’em.
Here’s a quick reminder of ECHO’s plot: A young lesbian couple must protect their daughter from a rogue scientist on a murderous rampage to steal the girl’s psychic powers for herself.
Kinda interesting, right? I really think the flick’s writer/director, Brian Feeney, and co-writer, John Ross, are about to insert one memorable piece of celluloid into the horror industry. Check out the recent quote Ross gave regarding his film: “We didn’t want to make another SAW rip-off where audiences squirm in their seats and check their watches. Instead, we focused more on suspense and buildup centered on key moments of shock and terror. The result is more of a ride with thrilling ups and downs, not just a mind-numbing gorefest.”
Fantastic! I’m all for it! Especially after watching a putrid piece of trash flick (that shall remain nameless) over the weekend that was the epitome of Ross’s last statement… okay, it was KNOCK KNOCK (don’t EVER rent that).
THE ECHO GAME stars Alisha Seaton and Jeannie Bolet as the lesbian couple (and yes, in case you were wondering, they’re both L-WORD hot). Melissa Lee plays their daughter. The film is still looking at a 2009 release.
