Have a heart? Good. Have several? No? Well, that’s okay because the forthcoming remake of MY BLOODY VALENTINE is about to become equipped with tickers to spare. However, I’m not sure how useful they’ll be, considering they’ll most likely be amputated hearts. What do I mean by all this? Read on:
The cheery folks over at Dread Central have scored the scoop that Gary Tunnicliffe (above, choking some guy) will be handling the gore FX on director Patrick Lussier’s reimaging. This bodes very well for VALENTINE living up to its “Bloody” title. Tunnicliffe is a master in the FX industry with a generous amount of horror titles under his belt that range from the HALLOWEEN series, the HELLRAISER series, BLADE, FEAST, CANDYMAN, and more! I really don’t see how you could go wrong. And what will be the first gore effect Mr. Tunnicliffe will be working on? Making loads of fake hearts of course!
As I already stated here, I’m really looking forward to MY BLOODY VALENTINE and its translation into 3-D! The time just seems right for this 80’s classic to be remade in a new era of cinema. January 23, 2009 (the flick’s release) can’t get here fast enough!
