Oddly enough, there’s never been a decent “Bloody Mary” movie. The closest we’ve ever come is, of course, CANDYMAN. That doesn’t mean there aren’t a plethora of them – according to IMDB, since 1992 there’s been no less than 10 flicks (and shorts) either called BLOODY MARY or based on the infamous legend. (Even the third URBAN LEGEND flick was subtitled “Bloody Mary”.)
There’s another one afoot, called THE SUMMONING. It stars Robert Carradine, Scott Spiegel (producer on HOSTEL 1 and 2), Michael Sani, and Tarah Paige (pictured below). Here’s the synopsis: When a series of brutal murders occur on a college campus in New England, nobody believes when one girl claims the murderer is the legend ‘Bloody Mary’. As the deaths pile up, and the causes become even stranger, they become aware that some far more scary is amongst them.
For a much more detailed plot description, head on over to IMDB. The flick goes into production early next year under the direction of Stephen R. Hudis.
