Not satisfied being a ruling force in horror cinema and television, Blumhouse is now teaming with iHeartMedia to branch out into the world of scripted podcasts. The companies are planning to work together to
develop and produce scripted podcasts in the horror genre, including thrillers, murder mysteries, and sci-fi audio-plays.
There is a chance that some of these podcasts could end up being turned into films or TV shows as well, and if that happens Blumhouse and iHeartMedia will also be producing those projects together.
The first podcast to come out of this deal will be writer/director/producer Dan Bush's The Mantawauk Caves, which will
weave together narrative threads of a social drama and supernatural horror, following three boys who enter a cave in the Appalachian Mountains — and only one makes it out alive.
Blumhouse Television co-presidents Jeremy Gold and Marci Wiseman will be overseeing the scripted podcasts. If movies are made out of these stories, those will be overseen by Couper Samuelson.
Podcast episodes will be available online, and will be distributed across iHeartMedia's broadcast radio stations and social media channels.

Podcasts already take up way too much of my time, but I still might check out some of these Blumhouse podcasts to hear what they're like.
