“It was one of things that was conflicting… So it’s a shame the two of them couldn’t work together. It just got complicated, so I think I had to pull out for my own sanity more than anything.”
She also commented on Scarlett Johansson, who replaced her. Interestingly, it has been reported that Johansson had screen-tested for the role but didn’t get it:
“She’ll do a great job,” Blunt said, choosing her words carefully. “She’ll get up on that high-wire and do a great job.”
I guess what we lose from Blunt is acting and what we gain from Johansson is an enormous, all-consuming, scene-stealing rack. I swear I only realized last year that Johansson had a head.
