Blunt on Iron exit

JoBloJoBlo

Emily Blunt has spoken to MTV about her bowing out of IRON MAN 2. She had been cast as Black Widow, but unfortunately was forced to instead stand next to Jack Black while he is really wacky for two hours in GULLIVER’S TRAVELS.

“It was one of things that was conflicting… So it’s a shame the two of them couldn’t work together. It just got complicated, so I think I had to pull out for my own sanity more than anything.”

She also commented on Scarlett Johansson, who replaced her. Interestingly, it has been reported that Johansson had screen-tested for the role but didn’t get it:

“She’ll do a great job,” Blunt said, choosing her words carefully. “She’ll get up on that high-wire and do a great job.”

I guess what we lose from Blunt is acting and what we gain from Johansson is an enormous, all-consuming, scene-stealing rack. I swear I only realized last year that Johansson had a head.
