Bob Iger confirms another Indiana Jones “will be coming”

Another Indiana Jones movie “will be coming.” Those were the words from Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, as he appeared on BLOOMBERG ‹GO› to talk all about the business of STAR WARS, among other things, in recent days.

While referencing all of the major brands that are currently under the Disney umbrella and making The Mouse into an even bigger Hollywood giant than before, like STAR WARS and Marvel and Pixar, Iger threw in ol’ Indy for good measure, because… well, why wouldn’t he? Indiana Jones is a big deal, too, hence, “Indiana Jones, by the way, which will be coming.”

Recently Indy has been a hot topic of conversation for everyone from Steven Spielberg to Harrison Ford to Kathleen Kennedy that it’s hard to believe there is no fire burning among all this smoke. I have heard a number of rumblings that there have been conversations happening in recent months on a new Indiana Jones adventure, but they are just that… conversations. There is nothing concrete at this point as to when this could happen or who exactly would be involved if it were to come together, although comments would indicate Spielberg and Ford for certain. However, it would not surprise me in the least bit if something is brewing in secret over at Disney and Lucasfilm, much in the same way the development of a new STAR WARS was not too long ago, that we wouldn’t learn about until – KABLAMM!! – it’s announced and right on our doorsteps.
