Bogus! Looks like Bill and Ted 3 most likely going straight-to-streaming

As someone who loved to regularly go to the theater (as I imagine a lot of you did), it's been tough not having the option. Of course, theaters will open up eventually, but time will tell when that will be (for instance, there's the upcoming Russell Crowe thriller UNHINGED, as well as Christopher Nolan's TENET, both supposedly coming straight-to-theaters in July).

And there are other big-budget event films – MULAN, WONDER WOMAN 1984, etc. – that are unlikely to go VOD as well (though, unlike TENET, they have at least moved back their release dates). But there are other, smaller films that might unfortunately be going to VOD and skip a theatrical release altogether (the way THE HUNT, TROLLS 2, and SCOOB! have). This potentially includes the upcoming, long-awaited threequel BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC, about

the founding members of epic rock group Wyld Stallyns are now middle-aged, and have still not fulfilled their destinies by saving the universe through rad guitar solos. With their young daughters in tow, Bill and Ted now embark on yet another adventure, this time trying to find the greatest song ever written.

Here's what entertainment research analyst Jeff Bock told CNN about the situation, name-checking the BILL & TED movie as one of the examples:

We just don't know at this point what the world will look like in June and July, but what we do know is if studios are planning to release these films in theaters, they'd have to begin advertising them right now. That's more money that they might be risking. That's why these some of these films [like BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC and SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS] make a lot of sense going straight to digital.

Bogus. Obviously, no release date has been set, but we'll definitely keep you posted.

So what do you guys think? Excited for the sequel? Either way, sound off below!
