But until then I’ve got this adaptation to look forward to! Back at the beginning of February I told you how LAID TO REST’s ChromeSkull himself Nick Principe was in line to star as one or two of the film’s five slashers and it was also interesting to note that Principe mentioned that HACK/SLASH was ‘the biggest-budget slasher flick he’d ever heard of.’ Now that’s definitely intriguing! At that time Todd Lincoln seemed all set to direct HACK/SLASH but this is not the case according to Variety!
It seems Lincoln is out and Fredrik Bond is in! Who’s Fredrik Bond? Well the man has a ton of commercials and music videos to his credit but no feature to date. Normally I’d be perplexed that a director would be making his feature debut with a film I was really looking forward to… but I’m looking forward to HACK/SLASH so much that nothing can damper that! Now Bond will be directing a script by Justin Marks based on the popular genre comic by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli.
Marks’ script is said to have a considerable amount of comedy included around the genre fun. I’m feeling pretty good about that. In case you don’t know the HACK/SLASH franchise centers on Cassie Hack, a young woman who travels the country, taking on homicidal maniacs and serial killers along the way. Can’t see how a hot sexy female hacking and slashing her way through some major baddies is a bad thing.
HACK/SLASH is coming from Rogue Pictures and is set to start filming around year’s end. The big question now is who’s going to step in and play our heroine and her big bad partner Vlad? Speculation is rampant with names being thrown around like nobodie’s business. One of the names at the top of the pile for Cassie? Megan Fox. Keep it here as we await more news for HACK/SLASH!
