With THE ROAD hitting theaters today, you may find yourself wanting more post-apocalyptic type movies to sink your teeth into. Well have no fear, as The Hughes Brothers have your back, with the upcoming sci-fi / action flick THE BOOK OF ELI.
Starring Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, and Mila Kunis, BOOK OF ELI is about a lone man who fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind.
In other words, it’s Denzel in ass-kicking badass mode, Oldman in overall bad guy mode, and Kunis in super-hot mode. MySpace scored a brand new poster for the film, which you can plainly see above, featuring Denzel as said badass, pulling some vibes from MAD MAX, and rockin’ a sweet pair of Rock Star shades.
This poster rocks my socks off in its simplicity, and the way it manages to create depth with the placement of Denzel, the text, and the sky in the background. If you look at it cross-eyed, this shit even looks a little 3-D!
I caught some footage at Comic Con this year in San Diego and it f*cking blew me away! It’s nice to see The Hughes Brothers back in the saddle again, and everyone in it seemed to be putting in 110%. Hopefully the payoff will be just as awesome when it hits theaters January 15.
