At the time we didn’t know who would be directing this flick, but I had an idea that whoever it was, they’d have a background in music videos…. boy was I right! Variety announced this morning that Frank Borin, director of music videos for Good Charlotte and Breaking Benjamin, has been hired to direct BUTCHERHOUSE, from a script by Michael Hidalgo. Considering the visual flair that music video director’s provide, this is actually some good news… hopefully this one also has an idea of how to director actors enough so that we actually care what happens to them.
BUTCHERHOUSE is about four high school students out to discover the truth behind a mysterious old property known as the Butcherhouse. The mysteries at this point aren’t all that mysterious, as the story is basically a haunted house / ghost story. With a name like Butcherhouse, you know that shit has to be haunted!
Besides hiring Borin, no other news from BUTCHERHOUSE has been announced, but I’m guessing the casting of the four beautiful people is right around the corner–maybe some Dunes alumni would be interested? That’d be a cool with me! A Platinum Dunes movie that’s not a remake??? I don’t know if I can handle this, but it’s a very good thing to see…
