Pretty good news actually…no one was really buying Bradley Cooper as Eric Draven anyway, huh?
THR has learned that Cooper, due to a scheduling snafu, has decided to the fly away from participating in Relativity’s THE CROW reboot. Word is his commitment to David O. Russell’s SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK and Alex Proyas’ PARADISE LOST will disallow him to star in the Juan Carlos Fresnadillo remake.
So who’s going to replace him? THR claims two names have surfaced to take the titular lead: Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum.
As you may recall, Wahlberg had expressed interest in THE CROW in the past. In fact, last year his name was attached to the project, but a deal never went through. Tatum on the other hand, who is a worse choice than Cooper in my opinion, is known for such intellectually challenging work as FIGHTING and G.I. JOE.
No telling which of the two has the upper hand at this juncture, or if new actors will be considered, but word is Relativity is trying to find a replacement stat. Meaning, we should have something definitive for you soon!
Until then, let’s opine. If not Cooper, who do you prefer…Wahlberg or Tatum? If not them, who should play Eric Draven in the new CROW movie?
