Brandon Cronenberg’s Antiviral adds Malcolm McDowell and Sarah Gadon

Brandon Cronenberg has been inspired by his old man in more ways than one, it would seem. The young Cronenberg, who is embarking on his first feature film – a viral outbreak thriller, naturally – has cast his pop’s most recent muse Sarah Gadon in the lead role of his flick ANTIVIRAL. Gadon is in David Cronenberg’s psychological drama A DANGEROUS METHOD, as well as COSMOPOLIS, which is currently in post-production.

ANTIVIRAL has also added the legendary Malcolm McDowell, Douglas Smith, Matt Watts and James Cade. The newcomers join Caleb Landry Jones, who was the first name attached to the project.

Shooting on ANTIVIRAL begins on Novmember 7th in Toronto. The film revolves around a salesmen, played by Jones, for a clinic that has begun replicating celebrity diseases for public consumption. He becomes obsessed with a certain celebrity and injects himself with her disease then must figure out how to cure it before time runs out.
