Predating THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT by one year, Stefan Avalos and Lance Weiler’s ‘documentary’ THE LAST BROADCAST will be released in a new special edition by Heretic Films on September 26th for $19.99.
The film, dubbed the first “desktop feature film” as it was the first film to be filmed, edited, and screened entirely digitally, tells the story of two enthusiastic local access cable TV producers who recruit an assistant and venture into a forest in search of the mythical Jersey Devil. Days later, only one of the trio emerges. He becomes the prime suspect in the disappearances of the other two. However, a local filmmaker examines extensive footage found at the scene and arrives at a different conclusion.
Presented in it’s orginal fullscreen ratio, the disc will also sport a Dolby Digital stereo track. Extras include two commentary tracks with filmmakers Stefan Avalos and Lance Weiler, three behind-the-scenes featurettes on the Production, Post-Production and Distribution featuring never-before-seen footage, exclusive interviews, “Fact or Fiction” – Rare Clips from the Public Access Show, “Jim Seward: Alive and Well and Performing Two Folk Songs,” a trailer gallery, and “Gallery of Gore” still gallery featuring crime scene and autopsy photos.
