Brolin’s Dead Girl

Variety reports today that Josh Brolin is leading the cast of THE DEAD GIRL for Lakeshore Entertianment. If you can’t place Brolin, think back to the simple days of THE GOONIES, or most recently, the entertaining- if wretched- HOLLOW MAN, and you’ll know exactly who I’m talkin’ about.

So what’s THE DEAD GIRL about? The movie surrounds the death of (now get this) a dead girl, and how the lives of seemingly uninvolved people interesect because of it. Sounds cool, and oddly enough, sounds like THE GRUDGE 2- at least in concept. Karen Moncrieff wrote the script and will direct the flick, which also stars Brittany Murphy, Giovanni Ribisi, Mary Steenburgen and James Franco. Wow- nice cast!

Production starts April 17th in Los Angeles, and if all goes well, this tale could be exactly what we’re looking for next summer (I’m guessing here, I don’t for sure- don’t mark your calendar quite yet). Plus, f*cking James Brolin people! I don’t know why, but that guy rocks. And Britney Murphy. She doesn’t rock, per se, but she’s hot. So that’s cool.
