It’s stipulated in every horror movie website’s contract that it must report on the alleged EVIL DEAD remake every two-three months or so, hence this article you’re reading. Yes, an update on “the ultimate experience in grueling terror” just needs to happen, so we’re going to chat about the possibility once again. The last time it came up was in January, when producer Rob Tapert claimed that he and Sam Raimi were about to look at a script. (Written by still-unknown scribes.)
Now it would appear as though someone else has read that script: Bruce Campbell! In an live webchat thingy over at Reddit where he was answering fan questions, Campbell was asked if he’d be involved with the remake of EVIL DEAD…
Campbell’s response: We are remaking Evil Dead. The script is awesome. I will be one of the producers and possibly play the milk man.
While you’ve got to assume the milk man thing is a joke (or is it..?), Campbell can probably be trusted to have read the script. He wasn’t done lavishing praise on it, either…
In all honesty, we would all love to make another ‘Evil Dead’ movie. When that will happen? Who can say – we’re all working on other jobs right now. We’re not trying to dodge anybody’s questions, there just isn’t that much to talk about. The remake’s gonna kick ass—you have my word.
