Bruce Campbell to play Ronald Reagan in season 2 of FX’s Fargo

TV Line just made my day. The site has learned that Bruce Campbell has been cast as pre-President Ronald Reagan in the second season of Fargo. Campbell will only appear in one episode, and it's not clear if the actor will share a scene with his Burn Notice co-star Jeffrey Donovan, who will have a recurring role on the FX series. Campbell actually cameoed in the original movie version of Fargo, briefly appearing on the television in the kidnappers' cabin.

Earlier this year FX CEO John Landgraf explained why The Gipper will be taking a trip to Fargo.

He’s on his first campaign [and he] makes a swing through Fargo. Some of the characters have some interactions with him. And some of his movies are also a part of the show.

Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson, Jean Smart, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are set as the main players, and the ensemble cast for the upcoming season also includes Nick Offerman, Brad Garrett, Kieran Culkin, Bokeem Woodbine and Angus Sampson.

Fargo's second season will take place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and will focus on an incident that happened in 1979, which was touched upon several times during the first season. Do you think the sophomore season of Fargo will be able to top the first one?

Season two of Fargo will air this fall on FX, and Bruce Campbell will be back as Ash in the Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead, which is expected to premiere in late 2015.
