Bryan Fuller teases a possible Season 4 return for Hannibal

Pardon me while I tend to my plate of fava beans and a nice bottle of chianti before we get down to the business end of this news article. Ah, okay, I'm all set. Recently, HANNIBAL showrunner Bryan Fuller sat in on an episode of the Post Mortem with Mick Garris podcast, and shared that he's already got a few ideas in regard to creating a new season for his TV thiller HANNIBAL, a series that's a part of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS ethos.

As you may already know, HANNIBAL followed the famed, fictional serial killer and human organ gourmet Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), and his dealings with FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy). Despite the show not being for those whose stomachs are easily turned, the NBC series was still quite popular with for viewers looking to include a good old fashioned cannibal crime thriller on their TV menu. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled after its third season, leaving many of the program's fans hungry for more.

Now, it sounds as if Bryan fuller is tossing around a few ideas to get HANNIBAL up and going, again, as he stated on the podcast that, "I have conversations with (Hannibal executive producer) Martha De Laurentiis, Mads, and Hugh. We’re are all excited about the prospect of returning to the story. There’s some hurdles to get through… [But] I just had a great idea for season 4. There’s an interesting next chapter in the relationship between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter that would be fascinating to unpack. I’ve shared it with the gentlemen and they’re both keen on it.”

While I've only seen half of the first season of HANNIBAL, I know a lot of people who will find Fuller's words to be quite the delicious treat for their ears. Obviously, several stars would have to allign before any movement is made on bringing HANNIBAL back from cancellation, but as we all know from experience, stranger things have happened.

If you're hoping to catch up on the series, the whole run is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video right now.
