The idea is to turn the story into something of an epic fantasy adventure with kidnapped princesses and the farmer who has to travel to the land of the giants to rescue her. It all sounds very…strange? I mean it sounds exactly like “Jack and the Beanstalk” but I’m not sure that there’s a lot of interest out there to see an epic adventure based on the tale (especially when it seems to be preventing Singer from returning to the X-MEN universe).
Singer has been busy with pre-production on the film and McQuarrie will work on improving the existing draft by Mark Bomback while Singer gets to work casting the film. Warner Bros. hopes to get production underway this summer. And before you ask, yes, the film will be in 3D.
