Bryniarski is Leatherface

There developed two groups of people when the remake of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE was in theatres: one group loved the flick since it was made by people who were fans of the original, the other group hated it, simply because it was an insult to the original. Myself, I liked the film, though not as much as the original. One thing I liked about the remake was Andrew Bryniarski’s portrayal of Leatherface, who was pooop-your-pants scary in this incarnation.

Well, obviously someone at New Line liked Bryniarski as well, because today it was confirmed (on Andrew’s Official Site, no less) that Bryniarski would don the mask and chainsaw for the prequel to TEXAS CHAINSAW, marking the first time that Leatherface would be played by the same person in multiple movies. It also appears that
R. Lee Ermey is returning as Sheriff Hoyt, at least according to the IMDB. TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE ORIGIN, directed by Jonathan Liebesman (DARKNESS FALLS) rampages into theaters October 2006.
