Fangoria scored the first image of John Carl Buechler in Adam Green’s ‘old school American horror’ flick HATCHET today, and just based on this and his characters name, it looks like we’re in for quite the ride!
Buechler plays a dude name Jack Cracker (ass cracker), who’s one eyed… and hunts alligators. Yeah. It really doesn’t get better than that. The dude looks crazy, and he also looks like a frickin’ riot! Based on what Green tells Fango, Cracker is the crazy old dude who warns and forshadows the bad shite that’s about to happen… a crazy old guy who nobody listens to and everybody pays dearly for… with their lives!
Everything I’ve heard about HATCHET screams heavenly slasher bliss. As Green puts it [it’s] time to go back to the basics of when there was a villain to both fear and cheer for. You’re damn right it is. He also goes on to say that the deaths are all crazy over the top and we’ll all be blood-drenched and satisfied by the end. Now how’s that for refreshing?
We all remember Buechler as director of one of the better Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees franchise entries
FIRDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD. That one featured one of my all favorite deaths (by sleeping bag), and from interviews with Buechler on the lack luster DVD set from Paramount, I can tell that this is one funny ass guy… who loves horror! Awesome!
