With the recent announcement that Joss Whedon’s sci-fi TV show “Dollhouse” caught a demolition wrecking ball, looks like the man is going back to the well. And no, we’re not talking about the purported Whedon-less BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER film rehash currently slated for a 2012 release. Nope.
According to Scifiwire.com, it seems Buffy will return in a series of motion-comic webisodes based on Whedon’s highly successful series of “Season Eight” comics. And apparently this isn’t merely hearsay, as casting decisions have already been put in motion.
In addition to seeking voices for familiar Buffy regulars like Faith, Kennedy and Robin Wood, casting director Jeff Shuter is in search of a whole new roster of fresh characters, including a male demon called Sephrillian, the no doubt formidable sounding Slug Queen, and a suave 007 type resembling the voice of current cinematic Bond Daniel Craig. Very interesting!

But what do you really think? Me personally, I never got down with the Buffy TV show, but I still like to laugh at Pee Wee Herman’s role in the 1992 movie, as I do Rutger Hauer, a young David Arquette, and the pre-DAZED AND CONFUSED teaming of Ben Affleck (looking dim as a b-ball player) and Sasha Jensen (who played the overall wearing Don in the ’93 stoner comedy). Oh, and of course there’s the inextinguishable heat of Kristy Swanson (below) as the OG Buffy!
