Just yesterday Burton and company (right) sat down as part of Disney’s panel at Comic Con to discuess ALICE IN WONDERLAND but the topic quickly changed to what Burton is planning on working on next: DARK SHADOWS! Now it’s no secret that Johnny Depp has had a very aggressive interest in adapting the twisted soap opera from the late ’60s. Most recently he’s recruited good friend Tim Burton to direct but nothing was official and nobody had any idea when the duo could fit DARK SHADOWS in with their busy schedules.
Well it seems the two have made room because both Burton and Depp are planning on bringing DARK SHADOWS to life as their next project. So whenever Burton is completely finished with ALICE IN WONDERLAND we can expect him to start production on SHADOWS… I’m going to go ahead and guess that’ll happen towards the beginning of next year.
The DARK SHADOWS television series spans over 1,200 episodes and dealt with all kinds of scary creatures ranging from vampires to witches to werewolves and ghosts. Depp will be playing the main character of the series: vampire Barnabas Collins. Expect more on DARK SHADOWS soon and as always be sure to keep it here for updates!
