Well, in case any of you were interested in hearing something about the highly-guarded upcoming Joss Whedon/Drew Goddard horror collaboration, CABIN IN THE WOODS, we may have something for ya. Then again, considering all the false hoopla being generated over the flick, what I’m about to reveal may just turn out to be bullshit. However, it seems like a feasible piece of info. Whatever, just take the following with a grain of seasoned salt:
CABIN begins shooting next month in Vancouver and apparently, a casting call went out looking particularly for three Asian girls to play “School Girls” who are “scary,” “terrified,” and “crying”. Oooookay, got it. Now is Whedon going for some kind of J-Horror GRUDGE-type vibe here? Or is he just trying to pull another prank? I mean, how often do you find scared Asian school girls running around a cabin in the woods? Then again, that could make for one whacked-out plot device. Who the F knows?
The only solid fact we know about CABIN is that is stars Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, who are neither Asian or school girls. However, I do feel that they’re both very fine actors.
