As we all know there’s a lot wrong with the film industry in general. From PG
13 sell-out genre films, WB puppets posing as actors, big Hollywood films capitalizing on stars or/and big special effects as
opposed to story/characters. As
I was walking the Cannes market and flipping through market magazines, I
noticed something else: whores.
You buying? I’m selling!
"Shameless copycats”; smaller companies who
will either mimic the poster or the title of a big film to whore out their
“sure to be lousy" 2 buck clones. Zero artistic motive, all product driven.
I for one can’t imagine anybody being fooled
by this ploy, apart from your average John who’s never ventured beyond his local
Blockbuster
Video, but
hey, it must be working, cause they keep doing it. Witness below to see what I
I’m talking about.
Ron Howard’s, Tom Hanks starring moneymaker!
The shameless copycat! Lance! I love you bro! But what are you doing man?
—————————————
Richard Donner’s classic with a (pointless) remake on the way!
Who’s the poseur in K-Mart gear?
—————————————
Poster of the great Night Watch…
Est tu Night Watch rip-off poster? YES!
—————————————
Snakes on a Plane is gonna do well at the BO, mark my words!
Snakes on a train? You aint got shite unless you got Sam Jackson!
—————————————
Emily got exorcized!
So did Gail Bowers…true story…I promise ; )
Meanwhile, there are all kinds of true accounts of Exorcism! Who knew?
—————————————
THE REAL DEAL!
Jason Statham should kick this guys’ ass on principle!
—————————————
When a stranger calls, things go bad…
But when a killer calls….Zzzzzz. The poster’s top tagline is priceless:
"This modern adaptation of the classic babysitter urban legend that
inspired Halloween, Scream and Black Christmas".
LMAO! Did it inspire them? Did it really man?
—————————————
Johnny Depp will sail the open seas again this summer!
Lance Henriksen will sail the turtle pool in my
backyard…Lance…again…what are you doing man?
There’s not really much else to say here, the images speak for
themselves. One word does come to mind though, a word that’s ringing in my ear
very loudly at the moment and that word is: PATHETIC!
