Candyman director Bernard Rose to helm new Frankenstein pic; cast announced

There have been countless film adaptations of Mary Shelley's classic monster story FRANKENSTEIN over the many years since film was introduced, and now CANDYMAN director Bernard Rose is set to bring us a new contemporized take on Shelley’s iconic horror creation.

Deadline is reporting that Rose is set to bring us a new version of FRANKENSTEIN and now we've learned who will be starring in this new interpretation. TWILIGHT's Xavier Samuel has been cast as Dr. Frankenstein's monstrous creation alongside "American Horror Story" actor Danny Huston and THE MATRIX's Carrie-Anne Moss, who will play Victor and Elizabeth Frankenstein. Also in on the fun is Rose's CANDYMAN star Tony Todd.

Produced by Eclectic Pictures, Frankenstein is set in present-day Los Angeles and told from the perspective of Adam/The Monster (Samuel), who is created by a husband-and-wife team of eccentric scientists only to be met with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him.

Rose adapted the script himself. The film is produced by Gabriela Bacher, Heidi Jo Markel, Jennifer Holliday Morrison, Christian Angermayer, and Klemens Hallmann.
