Our last update on Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s INTRUDERS was back in April, when the film had cast Clive Owen and Daniel Bruhl (INGLORIOUS BASTERDS). Well, as shooting begins (cameras rolled for the first time yesterday), a few more names have been added.
Carice van Houten, recently seen in Paul Verhoeven’s BLACK BOOK, Bryan Singer’s VALKYRIE and Universal’s REPO MEN, will appear in the film, alongside Pilar López de Ayala, Ella Purnell, Izan Corchero and Kerry Fox. While their roles have not been specified, I’m going to guess that van Houten (pictured) will be playing the matriarch of the besieged family.
The film, about an eleven year old girl whose vivid story about a monster has terrifying effects on her and her family, is scheduled to shoot for 12 weeks in the UK and Spain. It has been financed by Spain’s Antena 3 and Universal Pictures International.
