And today’s announcement is no different. Variety are dropping word on a flick called VIVID, starring the absolutely gorgeous Charisma Carpenter. Carpenter (pictured) is joined by Ricci Harnett and The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins.
VIVID is the first film coming from Red Sparrow, a new production company out of the UK. It’s budgeted for $1.2 million and will be produced by Red Sparrow’s Patrick Fischer. Reg Traviss is set to direct.
VIVID is described as a psychological horror about a New York novelist (Carpenter) who relocates to rural England, only to be rejected by the mistrustful locals and plagued by horrific visions of a massacre at her country manor.
Like I said, unoriginal but loads of potential. VIVID will film in both London and Somerset. On a side note, Red Sparrow has two other horror films in development. A Western flick featuring Chinese vampires called BONE ORCHARD, which is being brought to us by the great John Landis. Can’t wait to see Landis tackle that synopsis. And COCKNEYS VERSUS ZOMBIES, a youth-oriented horror.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for any news on Red Sparrow’s upcoming slate and will keep you updated as soon as we hear something.
