Carrie Coon is playing Proxima Midnight in Avengers: Infinity War

There are a handful of actors I love who consistently prove to be the best elements of whatever project they take on, and Carrie Coon is definitely one of them, so it's a wonderful surprise that the already jam-packed AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR has welcomed the actress to its ranks. According to Variety, INFINITY WAR directors Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that Carrie Coon would be playing Proxima Midnight during an interview with British magazine Radio Times, which the actress confirmed on Twitter.

This wasn't Carrie Coon's first time in a mo-cap suit, as the actress added that she had previously worked for Raven Software for years in "Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Wolverine and one more, I believe. I did all the female characters and some monster stuff." If you need a rundown on who Proxima Midnight is, well, she's a member of the Black Order, a group of ruthless aliens that serve Thanos (Josh Brolin) in his villainous quest alongside Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, and Cull Obsidian. Carrie Coon has done exceptional work on GONE GIRL, The Leftovers, Fargo, and THE POST.

The official synopsis for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR:

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time.
