Rarely does a filmmaker have two simultaneous features in the can. Well such is the case for German native Christian Alvart, whose salvo of PANDORUM clips we’ve seen adnausam (rightly so, as the flick opens tomorrow).
But now we have some exciting news about his other flick, CASE 39, about a social worker (Renee Zellweger) that fights to save a girl from her abusive parents, only to discover that the situation is more dangerous than she ever expected. That’s right, it’s official – Paramount will finally release the film in the U.S. on January 1st, 2010.
Shot back in 2006, Alvart’s film has been languishing in distribution limbo, but now we can all see the film on a wider scale thanks in part to rising co-star Bradley Cooper (THE HANGOVER), who joins original male lead Ian McShane (“Deadwood”).
The film has seen sporadic release internationally, but now domestic audiences will have a better chance to examine the Case.
