Casey Affleck signs on to play ‘Gabriel’ in Heaven v Hell flick Paradise Lost

Alex Proyas’ upcoming adaptation of the poem PARADISE LOST is gathering itself quite the cast, isn’t it? First we’ve got names like Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker and Djimon Hounsou signing on for the epic Heaven vs. Hell battle, then we hear Rufus Sewell might be interested in joining as well. So what name do we have joining the project today?

Well just in case the title of this article didn’t give it away, let me tell you: Casey Affleck! According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog the talented actor (right) will be starring in the film as ‘Gabriel,’ an angel with six wings who was created by God to serve as His messenger and initially to work alongside Michael for Lucifer. He and Michael team up to fight Lucifer. Works for me!

PARADISE LOST tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, including the latter’s role in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace.

So we’ve got Benjamin Walker and Casey Affleck teaming up to battle Bradley Cooper with Djimon Hounsou in that mix somewhere. Not too shabby. I’m definitely down! What says you guys? Spit some bullets below and let us know how you’re feeling about this casting thus far.
