Cast battles to Led Zeppelin on The House with a Clock in its Walls set

THOR: RAGNAROK is currently raking up the dough at the global box office, as millions of viewers marvel at the sight of the God of Thunder battling opponents while Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" blasts on the soundtrack. The "Immigrant Song" was also used in the 2003 film SCHOOL OF ROCK, in a moment where star Jack Black sings along with the tune… and now Black has taken to Instagram to show that he can fight to the sounds of Zeppelin just as well as Thor can.

This clip of awesomeness is relevant to us here on Arrow in the Head because the slo-mo fight Black took part in while jamming "Immigrant Song" happened to take place on the set of the Eli Roth-directed adaptation of John Bellairs' 1973 novel THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS. Black's opponents in this battle: Owen Vaccaro, who plays the film's 10-year-old lead character Lewis, director Roth, and co-star Cate Blanchett. In THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS, Blanchett plays the witch who lives next door to Black's character, the wizard Uncle Jonathan. The actress also happens to play main villain Hela in THOR: RAGNAROK.

This is just a fun moment of the cast and their director playing around on the set, but it does offer a glimpse of what three major characters will look like. The actors aren't in character here, but they are made up as their characters.

Supernatural creator Eric Kripke has written the screenplay adaptation for THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS. Bellairs' novel told the following story:

Lewis had always wanted to live in a house like Uncle Jonathan’s — full of marble fireplaces and secret passageways and dozens of unused, unexplored rooms. And living with Uncle Jonathan, a real wizard, was full of fun and surprises.

But while Uncle Jonathan practiced funny and comfortable white magic, the original owner of the old house, Isaac Izard, had been an evil sorcerer. Isaac Izard had devised a plan for bringing about the end of the world. Somewhere in the walls of the house he had hidden a clock. Every night Lewis and Uncle Jonathan could hear it ticking — sometimes loud, sometimes soft — marking off the minutes until doomsday.

Lewis knew they had to find the clock before it was too late. Then he decided to dabble in a litte magic of his own, and their time almost ran out.

Kripke is also producing the film with Brad Fischer and James Vanderbilt for Amblin Entertainment. William Sherak, Tracey Nyberg, and Laeta Kalogridis serve as executive producers.

Black, Blanchett, and Vaccaro are joined in the cast by Kyle MacLachlan as the evil sorcerer Isaac Izard.

THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS is set to reach theatres on September 21, 2018
