TV Casting: Billy Bob Thornton heads to Fargo and Alexandra Breckenridge rejoins American Horror Story

Some interesting TV casting news today, as FX has tapped Billy Bob Thornton for their 10-episode limited series adaptation of The Coen Brothers FARGO and also brought back the hottest French maid of all time, Alexandra Breckenridge, for the third season of American Horror Story.

Thornton will play the role of "LorneĀ Malvo, the rootless, manipulative man who meets a small-town insurance salesman and sets him on a path of destruction," which is similarly based on the character played by Steve Buscemi in the original Oscar-winning film, although this will be a new story, rather than a direct adaptation. The limited series "will follow an all-new "true crime" story with a new case and characters all seeped in the humor, murder and "Minnesota nice" of the original."

Fargo, the limited series, is expected to air in the spring of 2014.

As for Breckenridge, many will remember her from the first season of Ryan Murphy's hit horror anthology series, American Horror Story, due mostly to her outrageously hot portrayal as a ghostly and seductive maid. Although not a part of season 2, the actress has been cast in the third season of the show, entitled American Horror Story: Coven, which is themed around witches (naturally). As a fan of ridiculously hot redheads and strong actresses to boot, I'm happy to see Breckenridge back on board the show and getting the spotlight she deserves. She's definitely got a presence beyond the obvious, and I hope this opens the doors for more work, particularly in features, where she belongs.

American Horror Story: Coven is set to debut in October 2013.
