Character posters for Preacher season 2 surface

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Now I know many fans have had many misgivings about the take AMC and Seth Rogen/Evan Goldberg took with Garth Ennis' seminal graphic novel series PREACHER. With it being controversial, graphic, and offensive even to this day, it was always going to be an uphill battle to adapt it. And, honestly, as a fan of the graphic novel, I thought Rogen/Goldberg did a fine job with it. It obviously wasn't one-to-one, and took many (many) liberties with the source material, but it retained what was most important: its style, humor, and attitude. It was still offensive, graphic, and – considering its keeping the conceit that the main character is out on a mission to kick the ass of an absent Judeo-Christian God – still controversial. And with the road trip conceit cemented in the final episode, I'm confident it will only get better from here.

Anyway, with season 2 only a little over a month away, AMC has released a few character posters for our main characters. Let's take a look, shall we?

First one's featuring The Preacher himself, Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), with an unfortunately tacky memetic tagline:

Next is the fun-loving Irish Vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun):

And last, but not least, is one for Tulip (the always lovely Ruth Negga):

Besides the individual character posters, here's a final one with all three of them together:

I like these! They're stylish and colorful, and look like they could've come from a comic cover. Now that season 2 will be closer to the road trip nature of the graphic novels, I can't wait to see what's in store!

Either way, a special premiere for season 2 of PREACHER will be unleashed on AMC June 25th.
