Charles S. Dutton (ALIEN 3, LEGION, GOTHIKA) has been cast in FX’s “POWERS.” He will play Captain Cross, the head of a homicide police department where detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim investigate crimes involving those with superpowers.
The pilot episode is written and executive produced by Charles H. Eglee (“THE WALKING DEAD”, “DEXTER”). Michael Dinner, who helmed pilots of “SONS OF ANARCHY” and “JUSTIFIED,” will direct. Kyle Chandler (“FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS”) is in talks to star as the male lead.
The potential television series is based on Image Comics’ title written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Michael Avon Oeming. Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions are co-producing the project to air on FX.
