Charlie’s Angels trailer: Stewart, Scott and Balinska gear up for action

The world-saving, ass-kicking secret agents known as Charlie’s Angels have been a fixture in pop culture for decades, and after two successful movies in the early aughts they’re now being brought into a new era with sleeker action and way cooler toys. This new version assembles the trio of Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska, with director and writer Elizabeth Banks as Bosley (one of several), and the first trailer for the upcoming reboot teases all the comradery, action, laughs and style you could want.

Banks' take on the material sets the stage for more of an origin story of the trio, at least in terms of finding Scott’s Elena Houghlin as the newest member of the spy team, with Stewart’s Sabina Wilson and Balinska’s Jane Kano being seasoned vets. As Elena learns the spy game the three learn to be a real unit, which does more to play with the material than simply switching up the cast.

The rest of the cast includes Noah Centineo, Luis Gerardo Méndez, and Djimon Hounsou, Sam Claflin, Patrick Stewart as three more Bosley’s, all of whom assist the Angel’s while Charlie (Nat Faxon) is the unseen ringleader.

Here's the synopsis:

In Banks’ bold vision, Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska are working for the mysterious Charles Townsend, whose security and investigative agency has expanded internationally. With the world’s smartest, bravest, and most highly trained women all over the globe, there are now teams of Angels guided by multiple Bosleys taking on the toughest jobs everywhere. The screenplay is by Elizabeth Banks from a story by Evan Spiliotopoulos and David Auburn.

CHARLIE'S ANGELS is in theaters November 15
