Check out Don Cheadle as Iron Patriot in this character poster for Iron Man 3

I reckon will get a healthy batch of character posters like this one and that’s a-okay with me.  Today, Marvel debuted their first character poster for the upcoming kick-off film of their phase 2 series of films, IRON MAN 3, featuring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes/War Machine/Iron Patriot.  It’s a nice-looking poster, if even a bit expected in terms of design.  That said, it’s still great to see some official IRON MAN 3 marketing material, which has been pretty solid so far.  From the trailers, artwork, and posters, the film has got a solid team behind their promotions, which is pretty consistent with Marvel’s methodology thus far.

Have a look:

We’re roughly two-and-a-half months away from the debut of this sucker and I couldn’t be more excited.  Marvel has established a great foothold in the superhero market and it’s been well earned.  Paying particular attention to their brand, the fans, and the creative teams behind their films, it’s nice to be able to count on some consistency for a change.  Let’s hope the momentum keeps up.

IRON MAN 3 opens on May 3, 2013.
