Back in June we gave you an update on the upcoming serial killer film TEXAS KILLING FIELDS also known as THE FIELDS, and today we’ve got a brand new international trailer for you. Unfortunately the trailer is in Italian, however the scenes they show tell a pretty compelling and intense story.
The film comes to us from director Ami Canaan Mann, her father is of course Michael Mann and he produced this one. If she is anything like her father, this certainly should be an interesting film to check out. The current release date for the film is some time in October (no specifics have been announced yet).
Inspired by true events, this tense and haunting thriller follows a local homicide detective (Sam Worthington) in a small Texan town and his partner, a transplanted cop from New York City (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they track a sadistic serial killer dumping his victims’ mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh locals call “The Killing Fields”.
The killer changes the game and begins hunting the detectives, teasing them with possible clues at the crime scenes while always remaining one step ahead. When a familiar local girl, Anne (Chloe Grace Moretz) goes missing the detectives find themselves in a race against time to find the killer and save her life.
The film stars Sam Worthington, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chloe Moretz, Jessica Chastain (below), Stephen Graham and Jason Clark.
