Check out the poster for HBO’s Sharp Objects starring Amy Adams

This July, HBO will begin airing the eight-episode series SHARP OBJECTS based on author Gillian Flynn's (GONE GIRL & DARK PLACES) 2006 debut novel. The series will be directed by Jean-Marc Vallee from a script adapted by Marti Noxon. We brought you guys the series' trailer a few weeks back (which you can check out again below) and today we have the show's cracked poster for your viewing pleasure.

I'm digging the poster and the trailer for this show and plan to give it a watch as soon as it starts airing on HBO. I was a fan of both the book and the David Fincher film based on Flynn's GONE GIRL. Not so much DARK PLACES but what are you gonna do? I'm just going to choose to look on the bright side with this adaptation and give it a go with open arms, as they say.

The series stars Patricia Clarkson, Eliza Scanlen, Henry Czerny, Elizabeth Perkins, Matt Craven, and Amy Adams as:

reporter Camille Preaker — fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital — who faces a troubling assignment: She must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. For years, Camille hardly has spoken to her neurotic, hypochondriac mother or to the half-sister she barely knows, a beautiful 13-year-old with an eerie grip on the town. Now, installed in her old bedroom in her family's Victorian mansion, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims — a bit too strongly. Dogged by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past if she wants to get the story — and survive this homecoming.

Again, I was a fan of Flynn's novel GONE GIRL but didn't dig DARK PLACES so much – especially the film adaptation starring Charlize Theron – and so I skipped checking out her debut novel. That said, I do plan to give the book a go soon here as I prepare to watch this new series.
