Check out the trailer for Lego Batman: The Movie – DC Heroes Unite

Seems like DC is wasting no time in keeping Batman alive and well after Christopher Nolan’s trilogy wrapped up this summer.  Not only did we just get THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS – PART 1 (with the second half hitting next year), but now we’re getting a Lego Batman movie, entitled LEGO BATMAN: THE MOVIE – DC HEROES UNITE.  Doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but whatever…it’s superheroes…as Lego’s.  Based on the Lego Batman series of videogames, the movie obviously pits Batman and members of the Justice League against the usual rogues.

Take a look:

Clancy Brown is voicing Lex Luthor, while Will Arnett is taking on the cape and cowl of Batman.  No confirmation on additional talent.  I always see these as kind of dismissive entertainment.  Much like the Lego Star Wars shorts, these are mildly amusing, but I rarely have an inclination to watch them again.  I’d much prefer putting Lego sets together, which I have to anyway, since my son destroys every set I buy him, then brings me the pieces to rebuild.  After the instructions are tossed, of course.

LEGO BATMAN: THE MOVIE – DC HEROES UNITE will hit blu-ray, DVD, and digital download sometime in 2013.

And now, for something really bad ass. Check out these pics and video of a custom made Batcave.  Built by Wayne Hussey and Carlyle Livingston using more than 20,000 bricks and taking more than 800 hours to build across a three-month period, the massive Batcave has all the major vehicles from the first batch of movies, including the Batmobile and the Batplane.  Some really cool shit.  Click on any of the pics below to see more images on their Flickr.
