Cheech & Chong working on a new movie with Broken Lizard’s Jay Chandrasekhar

Hey man, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong are reuniting for a new movie! Far out! Chong revealed the news while speaking with CelebStoner (of course), and Broken Lizard's Jay Chandrasekhar (SUPER TROOPERS, CLUB DREAD, BEERFEST) is currently developing the script for the planned film.

"He's working a script right now for us. We've had some preliminary meetings. It looks really good. It looks really funny. It's about us going to a festival called the Burning Joint. All sorts of shenanigans happen. It's going to be a lot of fun."

Chong says the duo met Chandrasekhar through Cheech's manager, and the new movie could start filming as early as this summer.

"They came at us with a rough idea and now they're fleshing it out and making it into a budgetable script. We could start shooting this summer."

CHEECH & CHONG'S ANIMATED MOVIE was released last year, but this would be the first real Cheech and Chong flick since 1983's CHEECH & CHONG STILL SMOKIN'. It's not clear if the other members of Broken Lizard will be working on the new movie with Jay Chandrasekhar.

I think anyone who has smoked a joint or two (or thirty) has a soft spot for Cheech and Chong, and personally I wouldn't mind one more film featuring the two stoners. With the recent legalization and medical use of marijuana in the United States, there are some very interesting places they could go with their new film.

However, this isn't the first time Chong has talked about another movie, so we'll have to wait and see if this will actually happen. But right now it looks like it will, so I have just one question: are you ready to get high again with Cheech and Chong?
