Chris Evans out, Sebastian Stan in for The Devil All the Time

It has only been a month since it was announced that Chris Evans and Tom Holland, the actors who play Captain America and Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, would be starring in Netflix's "Midwestern gothic" film THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME. Since then, there has already been a behind-the-scenes shake-up, as Evans had to drop out of the project due to scheduling issues. But director Antonio Campos has already found his replacement… and he stayed within the MCU to do so.

Replacing Captain America is his best buddy Bucky Barnes, a.k.a. The Winter Soldier, a.k.a. actor Sebastian Stan.

THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME is an adaptation of a 2011 novel written by Donald Ray Pollock. Antonio and Paul Campos wrote the screenplay, which tells the following story:

In the forgotten backwoods of a place called Knockemstiff, Ohio, a storm of faith, violence and redemption brews. Out of desperation to save his dying wife, Willard Russell turns to prayer which succumbs to sacrifice. This sets our protagonist Arvin, Willard’s son, on his path from bullied kid to a man who knows when to take action. He interacts with a nefarious cast of characters: a serial killer couple, a faith-testing preacher, and a corrupt local sheriff in a story that is told across two decades.

Mia Wasakowska, Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard, Eliza Scanlen, and Gabriel Ebert are also in the cast.

THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME sounds quite strange, but I'm on board to check it out due to the cast and the presene of a "serial killer couple" in the story.

The film is being produced by Randall Poster, Max Born, Riva Marker, and Holland's SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. Annie Marter and Jacob Jaffke serve as executive producers.
