Chris O’Dowd & Zhang Ziyi are the latest to join J.J. Abrams’ God Particle

Director Julius Onah will be working with one hell of a cast once filming starts for GOD PARTICLE. THR has learned that Chris O'Dowd (BRIDESMAIDS, The IT Crowd) and Zhang Ziyi (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA) have signed up for the J.J. Abrams-produced sci-fi thriller, joining David Oyelowo, Daniel Bruhl, Elizabeth Debicki and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

The film will follow "crew members aboard a space station who find themselves alone after a scientific experiment causes Earth to disappear. When a space shuttle appears, the space station crew must determine if they are friend or foe."

Zhang's character "is part of the international team of astronauts and scientists up in space," while O'Dowd is taking over for John Krasinski (who has left the project) as an astronaut aboard the station.

GOD PARTICLE will head into production sometime later this year for its February 24, 2017 release.
