Christine: Bryan Fuller directing Stephen King adaptation for Blumhouse

Just in time for the 40th anniversary of the Stephen King novel Christine (buy a copy HERE) and the film adaptation directed by John Carpenter (watch it HERE), Blumhouse Productions and Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller are teaming up for a new film based on the story.

Fuller will write and direct the new Christine, which follows

a shy teen who comes out of his shell after he buys a ’58 Plymouth Fury to fix up. The car has a mind of its own, as well as a murderous past, and begins to change the young man and everyone around him in most dangerous fashion.

According to Deadline, Fuller's intention is to set the film in the 1980s and keep it "grounded in King's bestseller".

Christine is set up at Sony Pictures. Jason Blum will be producing the film alongside Vincenzo Natali and Steven Hoban. Peter Kang is overseeing the project for Sony.

As long as Fuller sticks to the story King crafted and Christine looks the same, I don't mind watching this all over again.
