Christopher Nolan’s next film will hit theaters in July 2020

Unless you're directing a comic-book movie, a franchise reboot, or a sequel, studios aren't exactly eager to drive dump-trucks full of money up to your front door, even less so if the project is based on an original idea, but Christopher Nolan seems to be one of the few filmmakers out there with the power, and the box-office clout, to make it happen.

Christopher Nolan's last film, DUNKIRK, received an incredible amount of critical praise, with many calling it Nolan's best work, and it seems that the director has been quietly preparing his next big-screen outing. Not much is known about the film, which is typical of Christopher Nolan projects, but we do know that Warner Bros. will be releasing the film in IMAX theaters on July 17, 2020. Other than that, there's not much to say, although THR added that it's being described as an "event film." How could it be anything else? With the exception of INTERSTELLAR, most of Nolan's films over the past decade have been released in July, so the date isn't exactly a big surprise. As for his competition, there are already several films which have laid claim to that date, including THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: IT'S A WONDERFUL SPONGE and the BOB'S BURGERS film. We're likely to begin hearing more details regarding the mysterious project as the year continues, but while we wait, let us know what sort of film you're hoping to see Christopher Nolan tackle in the comments.
