Chuck Norris plainly states that he will not return for The Expendables 3

Expendables Norris title

There’s the old adage: “Chuck Norris’ tears could cure cancer. Too bad Chuck Norris has never cried.”

Well perhaps Norris has taken that truth to heart and decided to devote the later years of his life (dude’s 71) to pursuits other than ass kicking, or perhaps he’s grumpy that THE EXPENDABLES 2 ended up having plenty of “vulger dialogue” and being rated R after all, or perhaps he’s just bored and wants to move on.  Whatever the reason, Norris has explicitly stated that he will not be returning for the further geriatric adventures of Barney Ross and Friends.

“Nope. Just number 2. This is it for me.” said Norris of his EXPENDABLES experience.  “Oh, yeah. This is very special.  Just to be able to do the film with guys I’ve known for many, many years. To get a chance to get in and fight with them, it was a lot of fun. Plus getting a chance to meet Terry Crews, who I hadn’t met before. And Jason Statham, whom I hadn’t met before. It was fun just to do that.”

I’m not all that broken up about Norris’ exit – his character seemed to me to be more… expendable… than others.  What about you? Will you miss the bearded Ranger?

You can find THE EXPENDABLES 2 currently playing at most any theater near you.  And if you missed them the first time around, be sure to check out our review as well as our interviews with effortlessly cool cast members Terry Crews/Randy Couture, Jason Statham, and Dolph Lundrgren.
