Chucky: Season 3 ordered at Syfy, Reginald the Vampire also renewed

While the news lately has been full of cancellations, fans of Syfy’s Chucky and Reginald the Vampire will be happy to learn that both shows have been renewed. Chucky‘s Season 3 renewal at Syfy and USA shouldn’t be much of a surprise, with the continuation of the Child’s Play saga highly acclaimed by both fans of the killer doll franchise and newcomers alike. According to Deadline, the Don Mancini-created show was a top 10 drama in the much sought-after 18-49 demo. Genre vets Jennifer Tilly, Brad & Fiona Dourif, and Devon Sawa all star on the well-reviewed series opposite Zackary Arthur. Mancini, in a statement to Deadline, promised big things in store for the next season:

“The cast and crew of Chucky would like to thank fans and critics alike for their overwhelming response to season two, which we’re delighted to announce has now spurred the official greenlight on season three. This news has made Chucky very happy. Thank Damballa for that because otherwise Chucky would have been frankly impossible to deal with. Many thanks also to our partners at SYFY, USA and UCP for helping us keep Chucky busy. See you in 2023 for what Chucky himself promises will be his scariest season ever.”

Meanwhile, Reginald the Vampire, which is based on the books by Johnny B. Truant and stars Spider-Man’s Jacob Batalon, will be returning for a second season at Syfy. Reginald has been a steady performer for Syfy, with the season finale losing very few viewers compared to the premiere. In the show, Batalon stars as the titular character, an unlikely vampire at odds with the beautiful, fit and vain vamps that populate his world.
