Clint Eastwood, Cry Macho

Clint Eastwood may be 90 years old, but that hasn't stopped him from churning out film after film. The latest film from the actor/director will be Cry Macho, an adaptation of the novel by N. Richard Nash, and Warner Bros. have announced that the film will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22, 2021.

In addition to directing and producing Cry Macho, Clint Eastwood also stars in the film as "one-time rodeo star and washed up horse breeder who, in 1978, takes a job from an ex-boss to bring the man’s young son home and away from his alcoholic mom. Crossing rural Mexico on their back way to Texas, the unlikely pair faces an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman may find his own sense of redemption through teaching the boy what it means to be a good man." That certainly sounds like Eastwood's bread and butter. The script was penned by Nick Schenk along with N. Richard Nash, who adapted his own novel.

Clint Eastwood's last film was Richard Jewell, which told the story of security guard Richard Jewell's (Paul Walter Hauser) discovery of a bomb during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Initially hailed as a hero, Jewell found himself wrongly accused of having placed the bomb himself. Eastwood's last starring performance was in The Mule (he also directed), which told the story of Leo Sharp, a World War II veteran who became a drug courier for the Sinaloa Cartel in his 80s.
